1972 BMW 2002 2.0L I4 Only 90,850 Original Miles
Between 1966 ad 1977 BMW produced the 02 series of compact executive cars, more specifically the 2002 was produced between 1968 and 1975 and had several variants of engines and a few facelifts along the way. These 02 cars were basically a shrunken down version of the New Class Sedan on which it was based. What we have here is a tremendous example with some updating of performance and suspension parts and restoration done by Enthusiast Auto Group a very reputable BMW performance and restoration and sales business. When they sold the car to my customer in 2020 they did a comprehensive inspection including compression test which measured #1 @ 16o, #2 @ 156, #3 @160 and #4 @162 psi. Also included was items that needed attention and at that time everything was dealt with, everything from fluid flushes to gaskets, to any leaks and electrical issues at the tune of almost $8,000. It looks like the car was originally restored at the Palm Beach Garage in 2011 including a full engine rebuild and Getrag 5-speed transmission replacement with that amount exceeding $24,000. The interior has been updated with a more modern sport seat and newer radio. The paint shows very well as does the trim and brite work. This car goes down the road flawlessly and is so much fun to drive. These tii’s have gone crazy in value lately and to find one that is done and ready to be enjoyed in better mechanical shape then it was new is rare. If you want the classic tii look with some modern drivability, then this deserves a second look.
